Hi, I’m Silvia Rodriguez.
Hi, I’m Silvia, a registered psychotherapist here at True Therapy. I believe in taking a holistic approach to mental health, focusing on empowering my clients with autonomy, empathy, and understanding as they navigate their journeys. My work integrates various therapeutic methods, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Gottman therapy for couples.
I’m registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from Brock University, a Postgraduate Degree in Autism and Behavioural Sciences from Mohawk College, and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
My passion for mental health started early in life and has only deepened as I’ve worked with diverse populations across various fields. I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families through education and community-based mental health organizations. Additionally, working with migrant workers from Mexico and Jamaica, as well as first responders, has given me a deep appreciation for how cultural influences shape individual experiences.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring new cultures, languages, and cuisines, having grown up in a Latino family where Spanish was spoken daily. Traveling is a passion of mine, and I cherish stepping out of my comfort zone to embrace new experiences and meet people from different backgrounds.
In my spare time, you can find me watching soccer (a lifelong love of mine) or taking walks by the lake with my dog, Bella.
At True Therapy, I’m dedicated to supporting teens, adults, and couples in overcoming challenges related to relationships, trauma, and self-loss. My goal is to guide you towards a path of healing, growth, and personal empowerment.
